Child Care in Custer County

It takes a village to raise a child, and Custer County has your back. One of the most important responsibilities you will have in life is to raise your children. Living in a community that prioritizes a positive and nurturing environment makes it easier for parents to ensure their children thrive and grow.

Early Head Start

The Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership provides an Early Head Start Infant and Toddler Child Development Center in Custer County, delivering a quality, comprehensive child development program for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years.

Preschools

If you're looking for a structured and academic setting for your child to get ready for kindergarten, Custer County offers a variety of outstanding preschools, including several that are affiliated with the public school system. You'll find many happy faces at our local preschools.

Day Cares

Custer County offers a strong day care environment, with several day care centers to choose from. Whether you prefer a small, in-home day care with only a few children or a more robust facility focused solely on the littles, your child will feel welcome and loved.

Our Commitment to Child Care

The Custer Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is committed to improving the quality of life in Custer County by actively supporting local child care facilities. A notable example of this commitment is the recent expansion of Precious Angels Daycare in Broken Bow. With our assistance, Precious Angels was able to purchase and remodel the former Berean Bible Church, converting it into a vibrant and welcoming space for young children.

This strategic expansion addresses the growing demand for child care services in the area. The newly remodeled facility features dedicated spaces for different age groups, a game room, an upgraded kitchen, and a gymnasium. This expansion increased the daycare’s capacity from 85 to 150 children, thereby providing more families with access to quality care and education.

The CEDC’s involvement in this project highlights our broader mission to support community-driven initiatives that promote growth and development. By facilitating the expansion of Precious Angels Daycare, the CEDC not only meets the immediate needs of families in Custer County but also lays the foundation for future improvements in child care services.
